Synopsis

A series originally shown on the Discovery Health Channel seeking to promote a greater understanding of the use of complementary therapies in treating a range of illnesses in children. Each programme deals with a specific illness and health practitioners, all belonging to recognised medical associations, are shown working with the case studies.
The series promotes the idea of helping children to strengthen their immune system at an early age for a healthy later life.

The three featured case studies are: a girl who was bullied at school when she was 12 and her body reacted to he fear and anxiety she had been under by becoming almost blind, although an eye specialist confirmed there was nothing physically wrong with her. She was treated at the Natural Healing Clinic with Bach Flower Remedies and talking therapy to help her learn to relax. 2) A boy who suffered from separation anxiety and was generally extremely fearful until treated by Oran Kivity, a child-friendly type of Japanese acupuncture which uses Shonishin and Toyohari techniques made up of stroking and patting along the meridian and acupuncture points with special non-puncture needles. 3) A boy who was treated with hypnotherapy to relieve his anxiety-related speech problems and associated lack of confidence. With Avy Joseph, a cognitive behavioural therapist (and hypnotist) who specialises in fear and phobias.
