- Synopsis
- A webdisk multimedia resource consisting of a DVD-Rom combining the educational power of video with the flexibility and convenience of computer-based learning. Designed for first-year university students studying engineering to help them apply their mathematical knowledge to engineering problems. The Maths for Engineers Webdisk is made up of 12 hours of video showing 15 maths modelling case studies such as rally cars cornering, canal lock gates opening, an avalanche overtaking a skier, and 29 video seminars going step-by-step through essential maths topics to uspport understanding of the modelling.There is also a built-in CAL programme with practice notes and exercises, taken from the TransMATH resource, for students to check what they have learnt, and there are links to a related website.
