Cloning the First Human

Synopsis
Some scientists are claiming that they are ready to clone humans, and that it’ll happen imminently - but scientific evidence discovered in 2001 suggests that attempts to clone humans stand a high chance of creating monsters - children whose organs will fail catastrophically in ways that are unknown in nature. It seems that the actual physical process of cloning itself creates fatal genetic and molecular errors in the growing embryo, which cannot be detected until it is too late.

Contributors include Dr Severino Antinori and Dr Panayiotis Zavros (Medical School, Rome); Prof Greg Stock (University of California, Los Angeles); Prof. Robert Winston; Prof. Ian Wilmut; Dr Lorraine Young and Dr Harry Griffin (Roslin Institute); Dr Gerald Schatten (Magee Women’s Research Unit, Pittsburgh); Dr Susan Rhind (University of Edinburgh).
