Synopsis
A version of UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH intended for GPs, health visitors, nurses and other health professionals working with children between the ages of 4-11.

Around the country hundreds of children are struggling with emotional disturbances including depression, anxiety and behavioural difficulties.

Behind the Symptoms looks at the role GPs and primary health care professionals can play in recognising when children are in distress. The video features role-plays where practitioners talk to children and their parents about emotional and behavioural problems.


NB Another version entitled BEHIND THE BEHAVIOUR is available for teachers and other education professionals.
