Synopsis
A version of UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH intended for teachers and other education professionals working with children between the ages of 4-11 and for use in teacher training.

Around the country hundreds of thousands of children are struggling with emotional disturbances including This video looks at the role education professionals can play in dealing with emotional and behavioural problems in children and actively promoting their mental health. It shows new initiatives currently taking place in schools and ways of preventing children’s behavioural problems becoming longer-term mental health issues. The video and booklet can be used to stimulate discussion with colleagues, in a training session or in day-to-day professional life.

NB Another version entitled BEHIND THE SYMPTOMS is available for GPs, nurses, health visitors and other health professionals.
