TV News: Editing the Story

Synopsis: One of a series of six programmes covering different areas of video production. Each programme is delivered in sections punctuated with key point summaries.

The techniques of writing and editing news are all illustrated using authentic footage from the ITN News Archive. Shots and interviews with professional TV journalists are intercut with story examples and clear expanations covering a range of news situations. Samira Ahmed, the ITN C4 News Presenter, guides the viewer through the processes of initial shot logging through to writing and non-linear video editing, issues which are all discussed and clearly illustrated.
