Adjudication in Practice

Synopsis
In May 1998, the Construction Industry began enforcement of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. The specific aim of the Act was to drastically cut the number of potentially expensive and damaging disputes in the industry, the most important part being the introduction of a 28 day adjudication process. Two years on, this video looks at whether adjudication has made any difference. Contains interviews with Michael Janney - a Partner and Head of the Construction unit at Kingsley Napley Solicitors, and Neil Burton of Burton Marriot Chartered Surveyors - an Accredited Adjudicator and a member of the Construction Industry Council Adjudication Board.
