Highland Landscapes of the Past

Synopsis: Some sites in Northern Scotland (indicating Fort George, Ardersier and Grey Cairns of Camster and Iron Age brochs) are discussed against their environmental background. Deals largely with fieldwork evidence rather than excavation (though not exclusively), and much use is made of aerial photographs. More general problems of archaeological evidence are referred to briefly in the introduction.
