Hickory Stick, The

Synopsis
A teacher takes a ‘creative’ writing lesson with a class of ten-year-olds. How she handles various situations and some of the kinds of behaviour she has to learn to deal with. The home backgrounds of four of the children are shown to illustrate how different learning patterns emerge: the way in which sympathetic, yet firm handling enables the children to know themselves and their world more fully.
