Heroin

Synopsis
Former addicts speak of the physical and psychological effects of the use of heroin and describe the circumstances which led to their drift to and dependence on hard drug use. The second part of the film was made at St Clement’s Hospital where the medical director describes the administration of the addiction unit and stresses the importance of maintaining links with the addicts’ families. Nurses working in the unit describe their relationship with the patients and talk of the difficulty of effecting cures.
