Synopsis
Trevor Phillips chairs a discussion among Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, writer/journalist; Maud Blair, course chairperson; Paul Gilroy, writer/lecturer, University of London; Paul Gordon, Senior Research Officer, Runnymede Trust; Iram Siraj-Blatchford, lecturer, University of Warwick; and Barbara Mayor, academic consultant. They discuss some of the recent statistical evidence on racism, then move on to how to combat the situation: are anti-racist tactics the best way forward, and what exactly is anti-racism? Lastly considers Europe and the opportunity that a new European community gives for establishing new identities.
