Harold Pinter with Benedict Nightingale

Synopsis
Benedict Nightingale introduces Harold Pinter and discusses his play ‘One for the Road’. Pinter explains the genesis of the play as a result of his experiences in visiting Turkey. ‘One for the Road’ is Pinter’s most overtly political play but he remarks that his future work is unlikely to follow this direction because of the problems of writing from a point of view already decided before the writing.
