Hand Puppets

Synopsis

Shows Yang Sheng, a master of the traditional Fukein hand puppet theatre, with a variety of his puppets. Shows the manual dexterity required of the puppet operator. The film contains a complete hand puppet story called ‘The Road and the Beauty’ enacted with musical accompaniment and emblematic scenery. The fight sequence between the hero and the bodyguards includes with battles up and down steps; the small hand puppets hold fans, pens and swords.
