- The stories of four generations of women in one family, whose lives illustrate the dramatic changes in the lives of Chinese women over the past half century. Aims to examine the truth of Mao Zedong’s dictum that women are equal to men. Uses interviews, images of daily life, special family occasions and archive film to illustrate the women’s individual experiences of marriage, children, work, love and self-esteem.
