Gwen John: An Interior Life

Synopsis

Covers the whole of Gwen John’s career and was made for the retrospective exhivition of her work held at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, in 1985. In tracing her development as am artist, shows nearly 40 of her paintings and drawings and intersperses them with photographs of the artist, her family and friends. Discussing the artistic techniques displayed in the paintings, and includes Gwen John’s own words as well as those of other artists and contemporaries.
