Synopsis

This and its companion film THE FALL OF THE ROMANOV DYNASTY are remarkable examples of early historical compilation films. After painstaking research, with Shub examining each frame of available material, they were produced simultaneously for release in 1927 - THE FALL OF THE ROMANOV DYNASTY for the tenth anniversary of the February Revolution and THE GREAT WAY for the anniversary of the Bolshevik seizure of power. THE GREAT WAY continues the story of revolution from February 1917 into the post-World War 1 period.
