Synopsis

An edition of the monthly newsreel ‘Deutschlandspiegel’ dedicated entirely to the reunification celebrations of 3 Oct 1990. Shows interviews with people on the day and a summary of events leading up to the momentous day. Explains how the unification process is anchored in international politics, reviews the incidents leading to the division of Germany, and considers the hopes and aspirations of Germans in both the East and West to overcome this division in the future.
