Genstat: A Preview. Part 1: Getting Started

Synopsis
Demonstrates the natural way in which an experiment whose results must be analysed statistically can be represented by Genstat. By way of example, an horticultural experiment on the effect of compost and pricking-out time on the growth rate of tomato seedlings is examined, and Genstat is used to codify the experimental design and analyse the results, first rather crudely to reveal overall trends, then in more detail to extract the significance of each factor on the growth of seedlings.
