Fungal Foray
- Synopsis
- A simulated field trip is used to look at fungi. Describes the taxonomy of higher fungi, the structure of a typical fungus and the various nutritional methods found. Looks at the fungi found in four different woodland types (beech, mixed oak, birch and coniferous woods) as well as open habitats. Students encounter the biodiversity of fungi in a ‘real’ setting and learn techniques of identification and interpretation.
