Synopsis

The author’s career is traced in some detail up to his marriage in 1895, but the subsequent years of his life are only briefly dealt with. The rest of the film consists mainly of footage shot shortly before Gide’s death and includes scenes of the author with members of his family and friends and in conversation with Jean Schlumberger.
