- Synopsis
- A video-based training resource to help managers, particularly healthcare professionals, to develop problem-solving skills. In 2 parts. 1) A case study of a hospital with increasing user demand, stressed staff, limited funding and a lack of resources. Follows the experience of Ann Lloyd, Chief Executive of Frenchay Hospital, as she temporarily leaves her post as sole controller of a £110m annual budget to spend a week as an auxiliary nurse in order to understand the day-to-day systems and processes that make both a ward and a hospital run smoothly; 2) looks at the issues in depth, focusing on the need to improve teamwork, problem solving, management style, quality, and staff recognition and reward.
