Synopsis
A film of windmills made in 1938 showing the development from the small post mill to the large smock and tower mills, from simple canvas sails to those with complex shutters. Shows mills at Bourne near Cambridge, Haverhill in Suffolk, Woolpit near Bury St Edmunds and Herringfleet drainage mill. Also shows the Woodbridge tide mill grinding corn in 1949.
