WAVERLEY STEPS (1948) looks at Edinburgh and its people, CROFTERS (1944) at a highland community apparently hardly changed by the passage of time, and NORTH EAST CORNER (1946) at the granite city of Aberdeen and the landscape of the north-east corner as tamed by men.
