Force to Reckon with, A (2 Parts)

Synopsis
Two programmes about policing, looking from particular problems to wider issues of public order, accountability and general concern about the difficulties that face police and public. Part 1 examines policing in Stoke Newington and Hackney, where there is a potentially explosive crisis in relations between police and the black community.
Part 2 examines issues of law and order: how should Britain be policed? Can the traditional Bobby survive? Who polices the police? How well does the complaints system work? Should police be armed? Contributors include several police chief constables and a former Home Office minister.
