Fly-By-Wire: Technology on Trial

Synopsis
The Airbus A320 is the first ‘fly-by-wire’ civil airliner. It crushed twice during its first two-and-a-half years in service. In both cases there was speculation that the plane’s computer software may have been to blame. The programme reports on the two accidents and presents new evidence about the crash in France, which will intensify calls for the re-opening of the accident enquiry.
