Flexible Assembly of Headlights
- Synopsis
- Shows a group of robots along a track assembling vehicle headlights (Metro, Montego etc), starting with body shell and reflector, adding bulb, adjuster screws, locating pegs to glazing at the final work station. The system is very flexible and reacts to changes in headlight model speedily so that there is virtually no interruption of the assembly track. Stresses the need for designers to think of the minimum ‘special’ components in a design and the needs of automatic feeders so that components can be presented to the robots correctly.
