- Synopsis
- Examines moves to ‘flatten’ management hierarchies in the Systems Environment Department of Lloyds Bank. To help create the culture of empowerment suited to the new matrix structure, staff were taken on a training weekend based on a role play in the legendary kingdom of Camelot. Dressed as knights and peasants, the staff undertook quests intended to show the flaws of hierarch and the merits of the matrix. But management finds that empowerment must be based on trust.
