Fashion Pattern Cutting Course on Video (3 Parts)

Synopsis
1: Shows the making of a basic block for the body. Explains in detail the balancing technique. This block is then used to create a lady’s corporate shirt with a two-piece collar and buttoned cuff and also a lady’s blouse. Shows the drafting in step-by-step detail with clear explanations and demonstrations. The finished patterns are cut into calico and presented on the dummy.
2: Shows the making of a basic block for the body and the drafting of a fitted jacket with a two-piece tailored sleeve and a coller/rever for a ladies’ fitted jacket. There are numerous demonstrations on the dummy to explain the theories before drafting. Presents the formula for creating the perfect tailored sleeve and explains why the relationship between armhole and sleeve head height is important for a good fit. The jacket is finally made up into calico and presented on the dummy.
3: Shows a bespoke method to cut trousers for any shape and size of person. Five pairs of trousers are made in three categories of fit - regular, slim fit and the traditional jean cut. The regular fitting shows the drafting of two styles - a pleated front and a darted waist trouser. The slim fit shows the drafting of two styles - a tapered leg and flared leg. The traditional jean cut draft explains why a tight-fitting crotch area must have the legs cut astride and how this helps a person to move with ease. All of these trousers are modelled on the catwalk to show fit and movement.
