European Poisonous Plants
- Synopsis
- An interactive package consisting of three activities: 1) poisonous plants and their toxins - considers these plants grouped according to their toxin type or plant family. The toxins are studied according to their chemical structures, biological/pharmacological action. Attention is drawn to useful drugs derived from the toxins; 2) pharmaceutical case presentations - a series of scenarios in which pharmacists respond to situations involving possible poisoning by plants; 3) identifying poisonous plants - a selection of multiple choice questions. Suitable for self-paced open learning or as part of a lecture course. Approximately 2 hours of teaching material.
