Synopsis

A film interpretation during four years of psychiatry in Africa by an European-African crew. Traces the efforts a young male psychiatrist working in Guiné-Bissau as head of the Department of Mental Health. His task was to organise psychiatry in the state, to build a new psychiatric hospital, to trace inland patients, to contact traditional healers. The film revals a culture about to become history and a science without its very own traditions.
