ÉmigrÉ Architects in Britain 1928-58
- Synopsis
- In the three decades from 1928 several dozen architected emigrated to Britan from the Continent, among them Marcel Breuer, Walter Gropius, Erich Mendelsohn, Erno Goldfinger, Berthold Lubetkin, Eugene Kaufmann, Arthur Korn and Fritz Landauer. A RIBA exhibition surveys their work from student days and early years in Britain through to the period of post-war construction. It also includes furniture designs by architects including Breuer, Ernst Freud and Goldfinger and refers to the work of architecctural historian Nikolaus Pevsner.
