Synopsis
Demonstrates the main characteristics of electron-beam weld, the narrow melted zone and the depth-to-width ratio. Animation is used to explain the principles of the process and to illustrate the keyhole mode of penetration. Shows electron-beam welding at work in a range of products from small precision instruments to large support bearings for aircraft jet engines, showing the advantages of the process in repetition welds.*
