Synopsis
The electric arc steelmaking process produces mild steel in bulk as well as the more specialised alloy steels for which it was first used. The film follows the electric arc process from the sorting of scrap for the furnaces to the final casting of the ingots. Notes the high degree of automated control and to the work of the laboratories in the steel mills.
