Edvard Munch

Synopsis
A dramatised documentary which studies the formative years of the Expressionist painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944). The non-professional cast creates a convincing portrait of Oslo’s bohemian and bourgeois societies. Concentrates on the artist’s family tragedies, his doomed love affair, and his insanity.

Special DVD features include: new director-approved high-definition restoration of the longer TV version; newly translated optional English subtitles; optional SDH subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing; 112-page book with a Peter Watkins self-interview, writing by Joseph Gomez, and a timeline of Munch;s life.
