Ebola: The Plague Fighters

Synopsis
The ebola plage kills a very high percentage of its victims (77% in Zaire in May, 1995), often by dissolving their internal organs and connective tissue. The programme covers events in the quarantined city of Kikwit, where the battle with the virus was centred, and relates how disease specialists traced the orgins of the outbreak by compiling a complete ‘chain of death’ of the epidemic, and why they fear a the emergence of a mutation of ebola that is even more difficult to contain.
