Drug Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias

Synopsis
Presents a clinically orientated classification of antiarrhythmic drugs in common use. The classification, although taking into account the mechanism and site of different arrhythmias and the basic electrophysiological effects of different antiarrhythmic drugs, is based primarily upon the anatomical sites in the heart where one might expect a given drug or group of drugs to have its most useful antiarrhythmic effect. The main areas of discussion are atrial arrhythmias, atrioventricular nodal arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias.
