- Synopsis
- Uses newsreel footage from British Pathé to illustrate large-scale disasters of the 20th century. Covers the sinking of the ‘Titanic’, the Tenerife air crash, the mud-slide in Aberfan in South Wales in 1966, the San Francisco earthquake, the 1948 explosion at the Farben chemical plant in Germany, the chemical poisoning at Bhopal in India in 1984, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion, the destruction of the rain forests and other catastrophes.
