Dictyostelium Discoideum: Cell Interaction

Synopsis
The mechanisms of cellular signalling during the aggregation phases of ‘Dictyostelium discoideum’ in which cellular signalling controls the aggregation of amoebae resulting in the formation of multicellular organisms. The life cycle, morphogenesis, spore germination and reaggregation after experimental dissaggregation are dealt with. The importance of a developmental enzyme in aggregation processes is illustrated.
