Synopsis: 2: Rerenko, one of Simel's sons, is in prison in Nairobi, accused of cattle theft. His brother, Tipayia, is anxiously awaiting news of him. Meanwhile the younger men of the area are getting ready to plead their case with the prophet.

Synopsis: 3: Rerenko is still in prison in Nairobi. Nariku, his mother, is attending a circumcision ceremony when she hears that Tipayia has returned to the village with news of him. Meanwhile another of Simel's wives discovers that her son too has been imprisoned.
Title: Two journeys
Synopsis: 4: As preparations begin for a wedding, Tipayia leaves the village for the markets of Ngong in the hope that he will be able to raise enough money to pay Rerenko's lawyer.

Synopsis: 5: The new bride meets her mother-in-law and three co-wives. There is trouble over the size of her expectesd wedding gift.
