Albanians of Rrogam, The

Synopsis
Looks at the village of Rrogam, about 45 houses in a valley in northern Albania. The Rrogamis only settled there after World War 2, moving from the village of Thethi across the mountains. Looks at the effects of changing government policy on their way of life - on religion, collectivisation of land and animals and welfare. This agricultural policy led to a serious fall in production and land and animals had be redistrbuted to the peasants. With the liberalisation of Albania in the 1990s some old customs may be revived as local communities recover their autonomy.
