Alaska: Oil on the Rocks
- Synopsis
- In 1989 the oil tanker ‘Exxon Valdez’ ran aground and split open off the coast of Alaska, spilling 10m barrels of oil into the sea. The ecological disaster sparked an angry debate about the oil comapnies’ plans to develop Alaska - many say the sacrifice of the wildnerness is too high a price to pay for cheap oil.
