Synopsis

A case study showing how a business has used good business practice to enhance its competitive advantage. The Alan Group (England, 85 employees), uses a great deal of microprocessor-controlled equipment. The company brought in an IT company to help implement millennium compliance, and it took a year to complete the inventory audit and upgrade vulnerable systems and equipment. The case illustrates how a small company gained enormous business benefit by solving its Y2K exposure.
