Designing Experiments with Allowance for Interfering Neighbours

Synopsis
Recording of a lecture given by Professor R A Bailey as part of the London Mathematical Society’s Popular Lecture Series. It shows that a little mathematics can improve the design of expensive agricultural experiments and thus gain more information for the same cost. The Latin square is one standard design, but if any treatment affects the performance on neighbouring plots, then more sophisticated designs are needed.
