Desert People

Synopsis
A compilation of parts 1, 2 and 4 of the PEOPLE OF THE AUSTRALIAN WESTERN DESERT SERIES. Parts 1 & 2: A simple account of an average day in the lives of two families of the Western Desert of Australia. Most of the time is taken up by the search for food. The first family is camped by an unusually plentiful water supply; the second family by a well which has run dry, and they spend their day travelling from one well to another, collecting food as they go. Djagamara and his family were filmed as they were found in the heart of the desert. Minma and his family had recently been met by a Welfare Patrol and had gone to a mission station. The unit took Minma back to his own country to record his life.
