Crystal Growth from the Vapour / Formation and Morphology of Germanium Sulphide Crystals / Variation of the Pulling Rate

Synopsis
Sublimation of germanium sulphide (GeS) crystals in the ampoule point within a cylindrical growth oven at approximately 5400c. The variation of the pulling rate of 1mm/d over 3,10,30 to 100mm/d gives large differences in the growth form of the GeS-crystals, GeS-nuclei, growth front, secondary nucleation, needle form growth. Time-lapse. Animated film of the experimental technique.
