Synopsis
A 6-part look at the skill of the potter, past and present, considering the work and ideas of leading British potters: 1) clay and its preparation, and how to make pinch, coil and slab pots; 2) the use of a kick wheel for porcelain and a power wheel for stoneware; 3) how to incise, apply clay, use slip, and create effect with wax-resist techniques; 4) different methods of making and modifying glazesnad discusses kilns and firing; 5) assesses individual pieces of pottery and ceramic art.
