Cousins
- Synopsis
- Dr Charlotte Uhlenbroek investigates primates world-wide. In 3 parts: 1) Lemurs: looks at prosimians, the earliest primates, including lemurs and bushbabies; 2) The Monkeys: shows marmosets, gelada baboons of Ethopia, howler monkeys of Central America, Chinese macaques that mug pilgrims, and the Sichuan golden monkey; 3) Apes: Shows the gibbons of Thailand, mountain gorillas of Rwanda, orang-utans from Borneo, and chimpanzees. Looks at similarities between their behaviour and ours, including long childhoods and the ability to use tools, and the capacity for both love and unprovoked aggression.
