Synopsis

A compilation of video pieces by video artist Cordelia Swann, designed for study and research and providing an overview of her work. Swann’s films are investigations of authentic memories, real places and events. Carefully composed images are ordered with precision, but their grace and calm beauty are betrayed by narrative recollections telling of conflict and disorder. Swann, in collaboration (in her more recent work) with Marek Budzynski, creates an emotionally diverse landscape that shifts across settings of rural England, Siberia, the American West, London, Manhattan and Las Vegas. Titles include PHANTOMS, A CALL TO ARMS, THE CITADEL, OUT WEST, TALL BUILDINGS, DESERT ROSE.
