Controlling Interest

Synopsis
A study of multi-national corporations with particular reference to South America. The multi-nationals have great power over the jobs in particular localities and even, in the case of small to medium countries, over the national economy. They often work with military governments and, as happened in Chile, contribute substantially to the removal of governments which are not ‘convenient’ for them. Their power does not always benefit their workers in their home countries as is shown in several examples in the film.
