Connemara Family, A

Synopsis
Since the great famines of 1840 Connemara, in the west of Ireland, has suffered from massive emigration as men and women were forced out by unemployment and poor living conditions. Now many exiles are returning home. The recession in the world economy and the consolidation of the welfare state in Ireland have pulled people back to the land. The film looks at the Nee family whose history seems to reflect the various processes which have affected the rural west over the last forty years.
